Step into history at Wing Luke Museum

Their history in Seattle begins in the 1800s, when Asian travelers came by steamship and rail to search out opportunity for a better life. They crowded into hotels and boarding houses. They lived frugally and worked in laundries, shops, restaurants, hotels, and gambling places. Many found employment as laborers in timber, mining, railroad, and fishing industries. Some even became entrepreneurs, starting import-export businesses or establishing restaurants and cafes.

On our 90-min walking tour and through the exhibitions about the Asian Pacific American community, you can understand Seattle in a new way. See how immigrants have shaped the Pacific Northwest from the early pioneer days to influencing current day issues and trends.

We will explore both inside and outside our Museum walls. The Chinatown-International District neighborhood is an important part of Seattle’s history and cultural vibrancy.

Included in this tour: Round-trip transportation, 90-min neighborhood tour, Wing Luke Museum, lunch at Tai Tung Chinese Restaurant, Tour Host, Water & Snack.
