We’ll stop in Blue River, also known as “The Jewel of the Yellowhead” for a coffee break and to stretch our legs amongst the lush rainforest of cedar and spruce trees. Then we’ll board VIA Rail in McBride, with your luggage carrying on with the bus. Let the views dazzle you as soon you contemplate the wondrous landscape of the Canadian Rockies during the 4-hour ride to Jasper. Overnight and dinner on your own in Jasper.
DAY 3 – TUESDAY, JULY 8, 2025 – Columbia Icefields – Glacier Skywalk – Calgary
After checkout, we’ll drive to the Icefields Parkway. In the early morning light, the sky is bright above the peaks. The wildlife below waits patiently for the sun’s warmth to make it over the mountaintops. It’s the perfect time to begin an adventure down the parkway, undeniably one of the most awe-inspiring roads in Canada. It parallels the continental divide of the Rockies for 232 km of stunning vistas that exceed even the most vivid imaginations. Let the power of the mountains take hold as you travel past cascading waterfalls, astonishing spires of rock and more than 100 glaciers perched amongst the peaks. Once at the Columbia Icefields, take an optional walk on the Glacier Skywalk. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy lunch on your own. After exploring the beauty of the ice fields, the journey continues east. After check in, enjoy a group dinner at The Cattle Baron (or similar restaurant). Overnight in Calgary. Dinner included.
DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, 2025 – Calgary Stampede
If attending the Calgary Stampede is on your bucket list, today is the day to check it off! You’ll join exuberant spectators in the grandstands for the afternoon rodeo. In tournament-style rodeo, 20 top competitors compete for $2 million in prize money in six rodeo events: bareback, bull riding, ladies barrel racing, saddle bronc, steer wrestling and tie-down roping. In addition, novices compete in rodeo events like steer riding and kids vie for top spots in wild pony racing. Chutes burst open. Bucking broncs cannonball out, bouncing and jolting their riders. Clowns distract enraged, snorting bulls when fallen cowboys make a hasty exit. So much to see and stimulate all your senses! It is no surprise that the Calgary Stampede is called “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” especially when you add midway rides, live music, agricultural shows, chuckwagon racing and many more activities. Overnight in Calgary. Lunch and dinner on your own.
DAY 5 – THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2025 – Lake Louise – Banff
Today the adventure continues on to Lake Louise. We’ll explore the lake area on a two-hour driving tour of this lake, a hamlet in Banff National Park. Known for its turquoise, glacier-fed lake ringed by high peaks and overlooked by a stately chateau. Overnight in Canmore. Dinner on your own.
DAY 6 – FRIDAY, JULY 11, 2025 – Banff – Hoodoos – Lake Minnewanka Loop – Spiral Tunnel – Golden
Get ready for another packed day of beauty and adventure through the Canadian Rockies! The day kicks off with a stop at the famed Banff Hoodoos. The hoodoos are composed sedimentary rock covered by harder rock that is difficult to erode. In time, once softer sediment erodes, needle or tower like natural obstacles are left. They are extremely unique formations to see! Then it is onto the Lake Minnewanka Loop. Each twist of this 24 km loop brings new vistas and hidden delights into view. Leafy corners, lake view lookouts, remnants of an old mining town and the spectacular rocky causeway above Lake Minnewanka are just a few of the treasures of this drive. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the resident herds of bighorn sheep as they meander along the paths that have always been their home. Next, if timed right, you’ll get to watch a train utilize Spiral Tunnel before heading to lunch at a cafe in Field. Overnight in Golden. Dinner on your own.
DAY 7 – SATURDAY, JULY 12, 2025 – Rogers Pass – Kelowna – Osoyoos
